Staff Senate Appreciation
Last week I attended my “final” Staff Senate meeting at NC State (I’m retiring at the end of June).
Staff Senate meetings occur once a month where elected staff representatives from across campus meet to discuss issues and develop services for their colleagues and the university. I’ve been attending meetings since January 2017 and learned quite a bit from the excellent work and efforts from the many senators. They care deeply about the university and their constituents and have developed a “seat” at the table to help positively influence NC State.
It’s been my privilege to serve as the initial staff ombuds at NC State and, within the scope of my role, to also support staff and the university. Thus, I was delighted to receive appreciation from the Senate for my service.
Many thanks Staff Senate and I know you will continue to do great work moving forward!
